ALL HER PETS ARE EVIL! #001

"ALL HER PETS ARE EVIL"
Years back I sketched out a picture of a cute girl with a bunch of evil animals around her. I called it, "all her pets are evil" For the past few years I always liked that concept. Right now I can currently writing a script for these characters for a flash short.

Figure Drawing!

I did these years ago while I was a student at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. I still think it's some of the best figure drawing I have done.

It's Freaking Cold!!- My Belmont SKETCHLINGS!

Hey again! This past week it's been pretty dang cold up here in Portland, Oregon. The temperture has been in the "teens" all last week and most of this week. So last week I was working over at Saint Cupcake's SE Belmont location; as some of you know is inside a really cool shop called "Noun". I really love working at this location because it is so inspiring. The bonus is there is a little more down time there which means I get to sketch it up!

BE MINE IS FINALLY DONE!

Hooray! Art Institute of Portland's 3D Production of "Be Mine" is finally finished! It was a great experience! I was in the 5 Week Pre-Production class on the concept design team. Here are a few of my sketches from pre-production.

A few of the Time Bandits Boards

I painted these in Flash and Photoshop, right now it's still in it's Flash-O-Matic phase.

The idea was that the Bandits had made there way into France during WWII. They have a scheme to rob the museums before the German Army gets there hands on the goods.

More Time Bandits

These were my character designs that I based my Flash Libraries off of.

Time Bandits in Flash

This was my Storyboarding Project last spring, or at least I think it was last spring. I have always wanted to see a 2D version of Terry Gilliams Time Bandits. Here were some of the sketches and boards.

Welcome to Toaster Dog Animation!

Hello my name is Danny Rico! This is my senior year at the Art Institute of Portland as a student of the Media Arts and Animation Program. My primary focus is PreVisual Development and Flash Animation. In the past year I began working in the animation field. I spent last summer (2008) working for Flying Rhino making Flash Character Libraries, and currently work for Scarred Artifacts (check out thebandmates.com). My other mildly-mannered job is at Portland Oregon's very own Saint Cupcake.
